Summer IT Intern- Paid- Hachette Book Group

 Hachette Book Group (HBG) is a leading U.S. trade publisher and a division of the third largest trade and educational book publisher in the world, Hachette Livre. HBG publishes great books for readers of all ages, more than 1,800 new books annually, in all formats—print, ebook, and audiobook—including many New York Times bestsellers.

HBG offers paid summer internships to students and recent graduates interested in a career in book publishing. Our summer internship program, which runs from June 7th – August 13th and allows interns to work 28 hours per week, offers students an opportunity to learn about the publishing industry and explore an area of interest.

As an IT Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks and help with special projects. To enhance your work experience, we offer educational sessions featuring speakers from all departments of the company as well as networking and career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Work with Technology Teams to implement Security program
  • Participate in Security Assessments for compliance requirements
  • Update and Refine Information Security Policies and Procedures
  • Conduct Application Security Audits
  • Investigate Level 1 security incidents and escalation

Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor’s Degree candidates in technology related field, in Junior or Senior year or recent graduate
  • Certifications in Cybersecurity and IT Compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Interest in book publishing
  • Great analytical skills
