Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen, Ltd.  has an immediate opening for a Paralegal that can work independently and take an active role working with the Workers' Compensation department. This position requires a professional, highly motivated, organized individual capable of functioning in a fast paced environment.  Candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work as a team and under the direction of the attorneys at our prestigious law firm.

Job responsibilities include:

Uses word processing and document management software  to prepare and revise letters, file organization and trial preparation, order and summarize medical records, format and finalize a wide variety of documents, including correspondence, memoranda, bill reviews, bill reduction and pleadings. Candidate must be comfortable interacting with various departments around the office for possible legal support to assignments, including Accounting, General Services, Docketing/ Calendar Court Services; etc.

 Establishes and maintains paper and electronic files in compliance with current firm policies utilizing the Document Management System. Provides assistance to other Paralegals within assigned teams whenever necessary to meet Firm and client needs; organizes and prioritizes workload so as to most efficiently enable and facilitate team effort to accomplish Firm and client goals.

Home Care Powered by AUAF is looking for a well-organized and creative in-house webmaster to join our marketing team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 • Knowledge and experience with use of WordPress themes, plug-ins and widgets.

• Strong technical skills and up-to-date knowledge of web management and site responsiveness. 

• Trustworthy and organized - keeping good records, files and safe keeping of any proprietary                   information, logins, passwords, etc. 

• Updating and maintaining the site 

• Making backup copies of the site (using our staging server)

Job Description:

Home Care Powered by AUAF is looking for a creative in-house graphic designer to join our marketing team. The goal is to represent Home Care Powered by AUAF in a cohesive manner. The In-house graphic designer is someone who can take a project from concept through development and design to production and then apply across all media channels and tactics this position will be play a huge role in delivering messages to our external touch points on a day-to-day basis. 

Skill sets and abilities: 

Degree in graphic design, graphic arts, advertising, marketing or related field preferred

Excellent typographic skills and rich knowledge of production as related to offline (print) 

Advanced proficiencies in Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.

 TITLE: Domestic Violence Court Advocate, Part-time, North Riverside Office

BASIC FUNCTION: Provides court advocacy and crisis intervention services to survivors of domestic violence at Civil and Criminal Domestic Violence Court.

REPORTS TO: Domestic Violence Program Court Advocate Supervisor


RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides legal advocacy services for DV survivors including crisis intervention, education on                survivor rights, protective orders, and Crime Victim Compensation, and community resource                referrals

2. Accompanies DV survivor to court when obtaining Emergency Orders of Protection and for Plenary     Order of Protection hearings

3. Collaborates with state attorney’s office and court personnel to assist and advocate for DV survivors     in securing timely assistance, understanding legal proceedings, obtaining legal reports/documents        and providing the necessary information relating to client needs (ex: information on divorce, child        support, child custody, etc.)

4. Provide legal advocacy education to DV survivors engaged in group counseling services.

5. Conduct recruitment and outreach in courthouses to engage DV survivors in legal advocacy services

6. Coordinate transportation for DV survivors to/from court as needed.

7. Stays abreast of changes to laws and policies impacting DV survivors.

8. Completes and maintains accurate documentation of client services.

9. Submit reports as needed.

10. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, in-services, and professional group seminars or                 conferences to increase professional knowledge and enhance job skills 

11. Other tasks as assigned by DV Court Advocacy Supervisor


QUALIFICATIONS

▪ Bachelor’s Degree required in social services, legal, or related field

▪ Bilingual (English/Spanish), bicultural required 

▪ Effective interpersonal skills and written communication

▪ Illinois Certified Domestic Violence 40-Hour Training preferred

TITLE: Domestic Violence Child Therapist

BASIC FUNCTION: Conducts individual, group and family therapy with children exposed to domestic violence. Provide case management and crisis intervention.

REPORTS TO: Senior Domestic Violence Program Director

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Promotes and engages children and their guardians in trauma-informed, bilingual/bicultural therapy         services under the Domestic Violence Program.

2. Provides short-term individual and family therapy of at least 10-12 sessions to child survivors on            caseload and their guardians.

3. Conducts 10-week counseling groups with Mujeres’-developed child therapy curriculum for children     exposed to domestic violence.

4. Conducts assessments, safety plans, and treatment plans for children enrolled in therapy services.

5. Provides case management, crisis intervention, community referrals and advocacy to child survivors     and their guardians.

6. Completes and maintains accurate documentation of client services

7. Submit reports as needed.

8. Participates in advocacy efforts related to DV and in the creation of events to promote the impact of        DV on children. 

9. Conducts outreach and awareness of domestic violence children’s services.

10. Participate in staff training sessions, in-services, staff meetings, clinical supervision, and                         professional group seminars or conferences to increase professional knowledge and enhance job          skills 

11. Upholds professional ethical standards 

12. Other tasks as assigned by Senior DV Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

▪ Master’s degree required in social services or related field

▪ Active IL licensure (LCSW or LCPC) preferred

 The Role:

The UChicago Health Lab is seeking a Research Assistant in LaSalle County to support a large-scale research project focused on improving access to high-quality, evidence-based addiction treatment for people with opioid misuse and OUD in justice settings. This position will be a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the impact of the opioid crisis in justice settings, and to strengthen both interpersonal and research skills. The position will be part-time for up to 20 hours per week. Research Assistants will regularly report to the respective study site of the research project, in this case the LaSalle County Jail, and will work closely with justice setting staff within a jail setting to recruit and enroll participants. The Research Assistant will also work with Urban Labs staff on project-related needs and will report directly to the project’s Research Manager. The position is based outside of Chicago, but travel to Chicago may be expected on very rare occasions.

 Responsibilities:

·        Undergo training in the responsible conduct of research

·        Undergo training in opioid use disorders and the justice system

·        Recruit and enroll study participants at study site; explain study, risks, benefits and consent

·        Administer structured surveys

·        Maintain confidential data collection and management

·        Data entry, reviewing and cleaning

·        Participate in weekly check-ins with Project Coordinator and monthly group phone calls

·        Administrative tasks as needed

 Competencies:

·        Strong interpersonal skills are required

·        Ability to adhere to strict data/security policies, including the maintenance and handling of PII/PHI and maintain confidentiality

·        Experience working with vulnerable populations

·        Knowledge around substance use disorders

·        Some level of research experience and data/programming experience, particularly REDCap, desirable

·        Strong initiative and a resourceful approach to problem-solving and learning are required

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team required

·        Strong attention to detail with superb organization skills required

·        Spanish language skills desirable
