Bilingual Child Welfare Specialist- SOS Children's Village
BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide services to SOS children and their families in order to achieve the particular case goal as outlined and explained in the client service plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide comprehensive case management services to SOS children, including assessment, referral, placement supervision, service plan formulation and implementation, and appropriate involvement with the SOS and biological families. Act as a partner to Foster Parents in times of need.
2. Maintain complete, accurate, and current service reports on children and families served including timely written case notes, six-month summaries and permanency reports as required and/or requested by DCFS and SOS. Conduct quarterly audits of client files.
3. Ensure that a healthy, safe and secure home environment and a consistency of care is provided to the children, including but not limited to, ensuring that the children received proper medical, dental and emotional care as required.
4. Advise and consult with the Client, Foster Parent and Child Welfare Supervisor to ensure adequate understanding of the case dynamics and the needs of the Client.
5. Coordinate effectively with DCFS and other community agencies for the maximum utilization of available resources to address the service goals of the cases assigned.
6. Work in conjunction with the Child & Family Services Coordinator to develop a working knowledge of community resources which may be used in serving clients and maintain a close working relationship with these resources.
7. Act as a Liaison to the Foster Parent Enrichment Coordinator and Child & Family Services Coordinator within the Spanish speaking communities towards identifying resources and foster parent recruitment.
8. Prepare for and attend required case meetings, ACR’s, court hearings, and staffings.
9. Submit reports as required by Supervisor.
10. Perform on-call duties as needed to carry out the responsibilities as required.
11. Communicate problems and issues within the department to the Child Welfare Supervisor.
12. Complete all mandatory agency and job specific training.
13. Represent SOS in a professional manner to the public and guests.
14. Comply with all SOS policies, state, federal, county and city laws, rules and regulations.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Attend general agency staff meetings, in-service education/training,
individual supervision, and other meetings as directed by the Village Director
or Supervisor.
2. Work with Foster and Bio Families and provide support when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or related field.
2. Proficient speaking, reading and writing skills in English and Spanish.
3. One year Child Welfare Experience preferred.

Relief Parent- SOS Children's Villages
Becoming a Relief Parent with SOS Children's Villages Illinois is a rewarding part-time commitment suitable for a diverse array of adults. The SOS Children’s Villages Illinois model of care is a unique one: we employ full-time, professional Foster Parents who care for up to six siblings in a single-family home in one of our Village communities. We equip our professional Foster Parents with the necessary tools to help heal and restore confidence in our children and their families.
Relief Parents are a part of this special model by providing assistance and support to our Foster Parents during their absence. This might include taking care of children for several hours at a time in a Village home or assisting with picking the children up from school and activities. If you are someone who is interested in child welfare and want to make a difference consider becoming a part-time Relief Parent with us.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Illinois driver's license with an acceptable driving record and proof of automobile insurance coverage.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.

Live- IN Relief Parent- SOS Children's Villages
The Live-In Relief Parent (LIRP) lives on the Village (at Chicago Village) in an apartment provided by SOS Children’s Villages Illinois (SOS Illinois). The role of the LIRP is to provide full-time support and assistance to the Professional Foster Parents at any of the three Villages.
As a key support staff they will support and enhance the care to children to assist in the growth, skill development, and nurturing of children in SOS Illinois foster homes. They will serve in the parents’ absence and/or in combination with the parents and/or foster parents in providing a support system to meet the children’s needs. Provide tools and activities for educational development and enhancement in the absence or in conjunction with the foster parents.
The Live-In Relief Parent may spend time taking children in their care to appointments or activities including visitations with biological parents.
The Live-In Relief Parent is a part of the Village community and is expected to participate in Village meetings and be a part of the neighborhood in addition to the job responsibilities. While housed at Chicago Village, you may be asked to work at other Villages for Relief hours and/or meetings and activities.
This role full-time and hours may vary but expect a minimum of 40 hours per week of active Relief work. The role is expected to start as part-time prior to move-in ($14/hour, subject to change in accordance with the law). Upon move-in, employment will adjust to full-time salaried at $23,660/year. Compensation includes room & board (SOS Illinois provides the living arrangements and a monthly budget for food and necessities).
While the position is full-time with flexible hours, you may not hold another job outside of this employment but could do
online school or something similarly flexible that may work with your SOS Illinois schedule.
If you are part of a committed relationship with a live-in spouse or partner, they can join you in the SOS Illinois provided housing (pending DCFS background clearance) and they can work outside the home.
The overall goal of this role is to create consistency in the family setting and to help the children progress, grow, and continue to develop in a safe and productive environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist the SOS Professional Foster Parent in providing care, whether in their absence or presence, in services to the children including transportation of children to recreational activities, homework assistance, therapy, and additional supervision of the children.
2. Provide responsible, "parental" supervision, monitoring, care and direction for the children consistent with the SOS Professional Foster Parent's methodology in the SOS Professional Foster Parent's absence.
3. Maintain written documentation necessary for internal files and contractual obligations.
4. Provide transportation to appointments for the children if necessary.
5. Prepare meals, do laundry and assist the children with appropriate maintenance of the home and attend to the general orderliness and neatness as would normally occur during the shift which relief work is scheduled.
6. Carrying on the normal structure and routine in the absence of the SOS Professional Foster Parent.
7. Communicating with the SOS Professional Foster Parents as to events during their absence.
8. Answer the telephone in the home and take messages or re-direct calls as appropriate for the Program and the rest of the Agency.
9. Maintain records as required.
10. Establish a positive, constructive relationship with the children through communication, interaction and role modeling.
11. Act as a caring parental authority so as to assist the children in their personal growth.
12. Maintain confidentiality of all client, staff and agency matters.
13. Work collaboratively with SOS Professional Forster Parents, staff and others, including the children's biological parents.
14. Be aware of the policies and philosophy as outlined in the SOS Parent Manual and work within those guidelines.
15. Participate in on going training and maintaining certifications such as first aid and CPR, TCI, Med. Administration, etc.
16. Represent SOS in a professional manner to the public and guests.
17. All other tasks as assigned, including the supervision of biological family visits.
18. Comply with all SOS policies, state, federal, county and city laws, rules and regulations.
19. Answer phone and return all calls within 24 hours and read and respond to emails, daily.
20. Attend general agency staff meetings, in-service education/training, individual supervision, and other meetings as directed by the Village Director or Supervisor.

Professional Foster Parent- SOS Children's Villages
The Professional Foster Parent is responsible for the creation and maintenance of a healthy, positive, long-term living environment so that the children entrusted to their care may become healthy, productive adults.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a healthy, clean, safe and secure home environment for the children.
- Develop, in conjunction with the child's case manager and other key team members, and implement individual progress plans.
- Ensure that the children receive proper medical, dental and emotional care.
- Administer prescribed medications as needed, and document all such interactions. Complete all required documentation related to medical incidents/reports, and medication management as required by the Agency and DCFS.
- Ensure the educational growth of their children. A pro-active attitude and response is required which requires: active participation in the school; setting expectations for attendance and performance; active participation in homework and enrichment programs; advocating for children’s needs; willingness to serve as a surrogate parent for special education needs.
- Ensure the child's participation in mental health services as required.
- Act as primary advocate for the children in your care, including attending court visits, Administrative Case Reviews, and related conferences as required.
- Maintain timely and accurate records such as household budget, children's progress records, health records and periodic evaluations.
- Maintain household budgets at or below designated levels for all budgeted line items.
- Participate in on-going training and maintaining current certifications such as first aid and CPR, TCI, Med. Administration, etc.
- Transporting children as needed, i.e., sibling visits, doctor visits, therapy groups, etc.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- To maintain an attitude of respect and understanding toward the parents of the child because these people are important to the child.
Successful Foster Parents must meet the following minimum criteria in order to move forward in the application process.

- Must be at least 25 years of age
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- If applicable, must adhere to the policy of bringing only one biological or adopted child (12 and under) into the Village home

Act as case manager for each assigned family and assess the need for intervention; refer and link families to community resources; follow-up with supportive services, assess and document progress toward achieving goals in a timely manner
- Consult with teaching and other relevant staff around understanding the total child in relation to their environment, family, and culture.
- Assist in the identification, referral, and follow-up for children with special needs. Provide support to children with special needs, including empowering parents as advocates for their children.
- Ensure that all families have an ongoing source of continuous accessible health care (medical home, dental home, and insurance) and assist families in securing and obtaining one when needed.
- Monitor health records to ensure that all children are up to date with their health needs. Documentation present in file and in database.
- Cooperate with medical, dental, and allied health staff to ensure accurate information about children’s growth and development, medical needs, screenings, follow-up treatments, etc.

Adolescent Interventionist- Right Direction Crisis Intervention
RIGHT
DIRECTION is a company that transports at-risk adolescents to treatment
programs. We are looking for a few responsible individuals with a flexible
schedule looking for a supplemental income.
This is an on-call position. You must have experience with and
interest in working with adolescents. You will also need to do a considerable
amount of traveling throughout the course of your employment. JOB DESCRIPTION:
As an Adolescent Interventionist, you and a team member will transport at-risk
adolescents from one location to another (typically from their home to a
treatment program). Right Direction is hired by the parents, who give us signed
legal authority, to safely transport their children to pre-arranged therapeutic
programs. Most of these teens have emotional issues and can sometimes be very
defiant. Safety is the number one concern. You must be aware you might have to
restrain the adolescent during the intervention only if the situation arises.
We use core body holds and verbal de-escalation techniques to gain control of
the situation. Employees will always work in pairs. Quite often, employees are
given very little notice of a case; therefore, a flexible schedule is a must.
This is an on-call position and in no way full-time or part-time.
Requirements:

Out of School Time Activity Worker- Metropolitan Family Services
Out-of-School Time Activity Worker to join our Community School Initiative team!
Our Community Schools operate during non-school hours and expand positive choices and opportunities for youth while achieving academic success.
Essential Job Functions:
- Plan and lead one or several activity programs in out-of-school time program.
- Provide a safe, secure, and engaging environment for youth.
- Enter attendance records and other daily or periodic information in participant files as required by program.
- Maintain order in the classroom, and handle standard student disciplinary matters, referring students to OST Resource Coordinator or school personnel as necessary.
- Attend staff meetings and other program-related meetings as scheduled.
- Provide feedback to OST Resource Coordinator on participant and activity progress.
- Utilize program curricula and resources as provided in planning program activities.
- Work collaboratively with other program staff.
- Attend training as required to improve essential skills.
- Remain available to work extra hours outside of normal schedule, as circumstances may occasionally require.
- May be required to act as liaison to classroom teachers, as appropriate and requested.
- May be required to create and distribute flyers regarding program events to program participants.
- May be required to function as point-of-contact in absence of OST Resource Coordinator.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel, agency staff, parents and community partners.
- Available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and some weekends.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to follow directions, both verbal and written.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred for some locations.

Family Services Manager- YWCA Metropolitan Chicago
SUMMARY: The Manager will analyze and evaluate operation of the program and organize and
control all data and budgets. The Manager will lead the professional development and management
of staff. The Manager will participate in organizational wide initiatives and support and cultivate the
growth and future mindset of the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago. The Manager ensures best practices
& quality assurance. The Manager will identify new program initiatives/program operations and
resource development
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensures fidelity to funder and ensures that funder contractual obligations are met.
• Interviews, trains, develops, and oversees a staff of motivated, qualified employees that
demonstrate professionalism, competence, cultural fit and executive functioning.
• Conducts Possibility Conversations bi- weekly with staff.
• Conducts FYI and development plans yearly with staff.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with the
YWCA Metropolitan Chicago.
• Participates in Manager’s meetings and collaborates with the Child and Family Development
team.
• Develops peer groups of support while developing and enhancing the programs.
• Build and supports a collaborative team.
• Holds bi-weekly staff meeting and clearly, concisely and in a timely manner communicates in
writing the content to the Director of Child and Family Development.
• Manages all program data and reports required by funders.
• Completes timely and accurate reporting to accredited and obligatory entities for the program.
• Represents the organization in the community and builds a network of connections and
support as well as promotion of YWCA services.
• Identify and build community relationships to strengthen the delivery of services and
increased funding opportunities.
• Demonstrate strategic initiative and create plans yearly with the Director of Child and Family
Development.
• Manage and pursue strategic resources. • Manager will strive for consistency across the enterprise with their management,
communication, and execution of programming. Fiscal Management o Manage all
expenditures, budgets and funding obligations as well as creating budgets.
o Manager will generate revenue for the program and YWCA Metropolitan Chicago.
• Talent Management o Support professional development and promotion for the team. o
Manage complex and diverse work within the team.
o Demonstrate the ability to delegate and build skills across the team.
NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in administrative and program meetings, as
appropriate.

collaborations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in Parents As Teachers Model preferred.
• Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience of managing teams, budgets and direct service in a human
or social service role.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills that are clear, concise and timely.
• Excellent managerial skills
• Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software to the YWCA and program
specifications.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented
• Ability to evaluate a situation to identify weaknesses and possible solutions.

• Ability to understand other’s perspectives.
