Daycare Teacher/Director- Learning Express Childcare

 

Position Available: Daycare Teacher/Director

*Dual position as Director and Lead Toddler Teacher.
*Director oversees the daily operations of the center including educational and nutritional needs of children and functions as a lead teacher in the toddler/2's classroom, 15 children max.
*Plans and implements age appropriate curriculum using various activities to stimulate the children's social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.
*Interact positively with the children, model good behavior and use appropriate guidance/discipline techniques as outlined in discipline policy.
*Record daily activities of the children and report any major issues to the owner and parent.
*Communicate with the families any incidents that have occurred and recorded on site.
*Maintain knowledge of DCFS Licensing standards (407) and keep abreast of new policies.
*Train new employees and direct staff in room assignments/job duties, and staff scheduling. Assist owner in completing their annual job performance evaluations. When necessary, discipline staff as outlined in our personnel policy.
*Enroll new students and give tours.
*Promote the daycare in any way possible via social media etc. and maintain working relationships with parents and staff.
*Ensure the health and safety of all children by keen supervision.
*Ensure compliance with city and state regulations to provide optimal a safe educational and nurturing environment to children families and staff.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1+ to 2 years of experience
  • Age Groups: Infant, Toddler, Preschool
  • College degree
  • First Aid Training, CPR Training, Early Childhood Education (ECE)

Candidate must have a minimum of an associate degree in child development or early childhood education, or the equivalent (defined as 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 semester hours of college credit in child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education) and either a Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential and/or 3 semester hours of college credit or 3 points of credential approved training in administration, leadership or management.

Site Director- Erie Neighborhood House

Reporting to the Director of Child Care, the basic function of the Site Director is to be responsible for the day to day operations of Erie Neighborhood House Child Care.  This includes assuring all DCFS licensing, Early Head Start and Head Start standards, and NAEYC standards are met, as well as assuming overall responsibility for all tasks related to the child care program in the absence of the Child Care Director. 

 

Position Responsibilities: 

• Oversees the day to day operations of the child care program 

• Responsible for Erie’s compliance with all Early Head Start and Head Start performance standards, IDHS standards, and oversees compliance with DFSS collaboration 

• Provides supervision, evaluation and daily placement of lead teachers, assistant teachers, substitutes, floaters, interns and volunteers 

• Participates in recruitment, interview, selection and orientation of new staff 

• Schedules time off for teaching staff and kitchen staff, including vacation and personal days, ensuring that staff ratios are maintained in accordance with DCFS licensing, Early Head Start and Head Start standards, and NAEYC standards 

• Ensures that proper teacher child ratios are maintained at all times throughout the program day

• Supervises kitchen staff and maintains food program at the center, including updating menus on a quarterly basis and placing weekly food order 

• Meets monthly with Director of Child Care for supervision and support, updating Director on staff/programmatic concerns 

• Meets monthly with lead teachers for reflective supervision and support 

• Meets monthly with the Child Care Admin team to discuss program/child/family concerns 

• Participates in all agency meetings/trainings as well as those offered by DFSS 

• Completes quarterly classroom observations to ensure compliance with DCFS licensing and Head Start and Early Head Start standards, as well as NAEYC standards, and gives timely feedback to teaching staff 

• Reviews 10% of funded enrollment children’s files monthly for accuracy and proper content 

• Completes performance evaluations for lead teachers

• Participates in the budget process, planning and implementation 

• Assists in the completion of the annual community assessment, self-assessment, and management plans 

• Attends program parent orientation, open house, end of the year celebration as well as two after hours events yearly

• Works with child care staff to maintain NAEYC accreditation as well as the Excelerate Gold Circle of Quality 

• Oversees the operations of the child care program in the absence of the Director of Child Care 

• Other duties as assigned


Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements: 

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, with at least three to five years’ experience as a Site Director in a preschool or daycare setting 

• Minimum of three years supervisory experience preferred

• Type 04 Professional Educator License preferred 

• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred 

• Obtain Illinois Gateways Director’s credential Level II within one year of hire

• Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to any emergency situation 

• Ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds 

• Upon offer of employment, must complete all forms related to hiring, including Erie’s application and employment status, and must provide three letters of recommendation.  In addition, must complete all DCFS licensing forms, including a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and a child abuse and neglect background check. 


 Compensation Range: $51,000-$55,000, excellent benefit package

The Senior Manager Strategy is responsible for leading project work in support of strategic initiatives at US Foods. This includes identifying and quantifying business opportunities, analyzing data, communicating findings and recommendations to executive audiences, engaging with cross-functional team and supporting implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business / Engineering or related quantitative field required

Related Experience/Requirements: 
•    6+ years demonstrated successful experience in analytical and project management roles
•    Prior management consulting or corporate strategy experience preferred
•    Prior distribution, retail, CPG, or related industry experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  
•    Demonstrated motivation to build consensus, lead workstreams, and drive progress on assigned projects
•    Clear, concise communicator able to interface with all levels of the organization
•    Strong written and oral presentation skills, including comfort presenting to senior management
•    Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
•    Strong analytical, problem solving and technical aptitude:

  • Experience in data analysis and statistical inference

  • SQL experience preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

El Valor- ASSISTANT HOUSE SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Residential QIDP, the Residential House Supervisor will ensure individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities receive continuous active treatment in accordance with their Individual Support Plans (ISPs). The Supervisor will oversee the day to day operations of the residential facility. Additionally, the Supervisor will assure the well-being of program participants through assisting towards achieving personal goals, assuring the residential environment is clean and free from safety hazards, and document any incidents that may ariseThe Supervisor is in charge of providing guidance and support to the DSP staff and program participants.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree from an accredited college required;
  • At least 3 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities;
  • Passion and commitment working with adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities;
  • Must pass pre-employment background check screening requirements;
  • Successful completion of First Aid/CPR certification required within four months of hire or current certification;
  • Complete Medication Administration training courses within four months of hire;
  • Current, valid Illinois driver’s license and proof of insurance required;
  • Fluent verbal and written English and Spanish communication preferred;
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends, overnights and overtime as needed;
  • Flexibility and ability to work all shifts;
  • May be required to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds;
  • May be required to lift and transfer individuals when necessary.

Director- Workforce Development- Heartland Alliance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Directs all services and placement needs (subsidized and unsubsidized), supervising program management and ensuring that high quality services are being provided.
  • Oversees program and contractual outcomes and provides necessary reports to funders and Senior Director of Pathways to Success as required. Responsible for reporting activity to external stakeholders, including funders, and internal stakeholders, across multiple program areas.
  • Develops and maintains key partnerships with employers, referring partners and others to achieve strategic outcomes benefiting participants
  • Directs critical programmatic aspects including employment preparation, training, and placement of participants. Ensures that employment orientation, assessment and preparation utilize best practices and allows participants to succeed in the workforce.
  • Hires, trains, supervise and evaluate program staff and may manage program managers. Responsible for ensuring that all staff provide services in accordance with the Heartland Alliance Philosophy of Care and understand and are aware of contractual obligations, program rules/manuals, applicable laws, etc.
  • Ensures the implementation of organization and program/department policies and procedures. (e.g. personnel, financial, client eligibility, CARF-accreditation requirements, Standards of Professional Conduct, etc.)
  • Contributes to the strategic plan for employment services within HHCS.
  • Engages in resource development (prospecting, pre-submittal meetings/webinars, grant proposal development, etc.)
  • Assists with the identification of underserved populations, works to establish needs assessments and helps to develop new service sites.
  • Provides general management of budget with program leadership and financial staff.
  • Responsible for ensuring program data quality, including complete and accurate data entry for all program activities, participant outcomes, service provision, etc.
  • With the Managing Director, other program leadership and Donor and Community Relations, contributes to the development of proposals to secure government and private funding to support employment program and service activities.
  • Attends internal and external meetings as required.
  • Keeps current in field of employment services through professional development, committee work, coalitions and workshops. Represents Workforce Development services with external groups, such as Chicago Jobs Council and etc.
  • Reads and comprehends contract requirements and develops logic models.
  • Participates in quality assurance activities as required by organization, accrediting bodies and funders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
