Housekeeper- Mather Lifeways

We’re seeking a full-time housekeeper to keep residents’ homes and community areas clean, comfortable, and attractive. As part of our team, you’ll create meaningful moments for residents and others, using your abilities and smile to make each day special for them. This position also performs various laundry duties including sorting, loading and unloading machines. We have a full-time opportunity for the following schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with some weekend availability required as needed.

The Mather is a Life Plan Community for those age 62 and better. Our staff of professionals is committed to providing excellent service and a warm atmosphere for residents, visitors, and staff. The Mather is in Evanston, Illinois, close to downtown and public transportation. The Mather includes 240 independent living apartment homes, as well as assisted living, memory care, long-term care, and rehabilitation services, along with multiple restaurants, a fitness center, art studio, gardens, and more.

The Mather is located at 425 Davis Street in Evanston.

Birthday Party Specialist- The Salvation Army

The Birthday Party Specialist ensures that guests receive excellent customer service for their birthday parties providing revenue for the Kroc Center and increasing membership sales.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL  DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Provide excellent customer service.
    1. Provide prompt service, ensuring party preparations are in place before guests arrive.
    2. Set-up and decorate for parties.
    3. Ensure that guest is delighted and will want to return.
    4. Resolve any guests concerns in a prompt, professional manner – in regards to, but not limited to, service, pricing, program planning, and product quality.
    5. Coordinate activities during birthday party.
    6. Ensure party waivers are received and followed.
  2. Ensure that food preparations are made for birthday party.
    1. Know and follow food handling procedures.
    2. Know how to operate all equipment and provide fresh, hot, and delicious food for our guests per Health code and Center policy.
    3. Maintain all concession areas in a neat and clean fashion.
  3. Be knowledgeable of membership packages and promote sales to first time visitors.
    1. Be knowledgeable of overall programs at Kroc Center.
    2. Promote participants to the next level of involvement.
  4. Provide proper input of all sales and data into the point of sales system.
    1. Manage cash drawer including preparation of deposits.
    2. Record all necessary statistical data.
  5. Clean-up and properly close facility, products, and receipts.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Hospitality training is preferred.
  • 2 years experience in the hospitality or customer service field. 
  • Experience with a computer is preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR Certificates.
  • Must be Safe from Harm certified within 30 days of HIRE.
