We are looking for a Maintenance Tech to join our team. As a tech you will make a unique and valuable contribution to our community by ensuring that our building appliances and infrastructure are functioning at peak of efficiency.

Full-time position responsible for maintaining all facets of physical plant and grounds in accordance with health and safety requirements at the various HCS facilities,

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Alert to and take action to avoid any physical condition that may be a hazard to the health and safety of residents, clients or staff.

·         Service and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC and mechanical equipment.

·         Perform maintenance tasks on a regular basis at the assigned facilities.

·         Ability to troubleshoot and repair household appliances, and other duties as assigned. 

·         Perform other related tasks as necessary or as assigned.

Qualifications:

·         High School diploma or equivalent. Trade school training and HVAC certification preferred.

·         Own tools common to the trades.

·         Valid driver's license and insured vehicle.

Foster Care Caseworker- Lutheran Social Services of Illinois

At-risk children and their families are counting on you to provide the full range of foster care and/or adoption services according to state procedures, COA standards, LSSI policies, and best practices.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Provision of direct services to children and families to facilitate timely permanency outcomes for children with their family of origin, extended family, or foster/adoptive family according to the policies and practices of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, and the Council on Accreditation.

·         Monitoring of services to clients by external providers (includes medical, mental health, educational, mentoring, etc. services), including regular communication with providers and collection of reports to document progress and identified problems with service provision.

·         Attending/participating in all scheduled court hearings well prepared to testify in an effective manner that communicates the essential facts and features of the cases.

·         In-person contact with children, biological parents, foster/relative care providers as required.

·         Monitoring parent-child interactions as required.

·         Completion/submission, in a timely manner, of all required contact notes, service plans, court reports, and other documentation required by DCFS and LSSI.

·         Performing all tasks required by the written client service plan, based upon the comprehensive integrated assessment, engaging children and families in the process.

 

Qualifications:

In addition to a real passion for working with at-risk children and families, this opportunity requires:

·         A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related human services field, a valid driver’s license

·         Proof of automobile liability insurance and access to transportation for home visits, meetings, and client transportation

·         The ability to pass and obtain State licensing required by Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. If you do not possess a Child Welfare Employee License (CWEL) upon hire, LSSI will work with you to obtain it.

·         Child welfare experience is preferred. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

·         Monitor clients through the overnight hours  

·         Be familiar with all emergency procedures

·         Complete all required Carelogic input related to client services

·         Communicate with clinical staff any changes in client behavior

·         Transport clients when required 

·         Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences

·         Learn to utilize the EHR (Electronic Health Record) as an essential tool to complete clinical documentation & other job function requirements

·         Must be available to work some evenings and weekends

·         Two shifts:

·         Sat & Sun. 8:00am to 8:00pm

Qualifications:

·         Driver’s License mandatory;

·         Good communication skills both written and verbally, will also work on-call.

·         High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

·         Monitor physical and emotional health of residents; maintains safe environment

·         Make appropriate referrals as needed

·         Assist with the intake and orientation process

·         Complete all required documentation related to client services

·         Communicate with clinical staff in regards to changes in client behavior

 

Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

·         Experience in substance use field or residential setting preferred

·         Valid Driver’s License required
