Home Care Aide/ Caregiver- Bilingual (Part Time)- Casa Central
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides in-home care services, according to participants’ established plans of care.
2. Accompanies participants to appointments via public transportation or other community sources (e.g. taxi cab, Lyft, Uber, or Medi-car), if required by the established plan of care.
3. Actively participates in all staff meetings, monthly in-service training and regular individual supervision with an assigned supervisor.
4. Adheres to the agency’s Universal Precaution and Exposure Control Plan policy, including hand washing before and after performing any service to participants.
5. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, when needed. May be required to work evenings and weekends, as well as holidays.
6. Ability to comprehend oral and written communication and to follow-through on assigned tasks/directives in a timely manner.
7. May be required to perform other duties, as assigned by a supervisor or director.
General Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Sensitivity to cultural diversity is required. Will be subject to drug and alcohol screening, as well as aptitude and skills testing. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to perform the essential functions. Must have a basic knowledge of home management skills.
Education/Experience:
A minimum of high school diploma or general education diploma (GED) strongly preferred; at least one year of documented experience in working as a homemaker or caregiver or childcare required; experience working with the older adult population is also preferred. Must be willing to complete 24 hours of initial pre-service training and 12 hours of ongoing in-service training annually thereafter, provided by the agency.
Language Skills:
Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred, unless assigned as a family/preferred worker; good oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos including documents such as safety rules, training curriculum, and program or agency manuals.
Operating Environment and Working Relationships:
Ability to work independently, as needed. Must work collaboratively with diverse populations. Must demonstrate patience and a positive, supportive demeanor when engaging with HCS participants, including those with higher levels of need, cognitive limitations or agitated behavior. Must promote and help maintain a congenial work environment within HCS.

Caregivers will provide direct assistance. As a Caregivers you will assist clients with the following activities housekeeping, daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, hair/skin care, shaving), positioning, lifting/transferring, meal preparation, medication reminders, etc. Additional tasks includes keeping daily care records, reporting any changes in client's mental or physical condition or in home situation, providing or arranging for social interaction.
Qualifications:

Autism Support Professional- El Valor
JOB SUMMARY
The ASP will ensure adults with autism spectrum disorders within the Organization’s residential or day program services receive continuous active treatment and structured behavior management in accordance with their Individual Support Plans (ISPs). Additionally, the ASP will assure the well-being of program participants through assisting towards achieving personal goals, assuring the environments are clean and free from safety hazards, redirecting maladaptive behaviors and documenting any incidents that may arise. The ASP will also coordinate and assist program participants during community outings and special events.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalency required;
- One to two years of prior experience with the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) population preferred;
- Completion of a DSP certification training program preferred but not required (training may be provided);
- Passion and commitment working with adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities;
- Must be at least 18 years old;
- Must pass a reading comprehension test and pre-employment background check screening requirements;
- Successful completion of First Aid/CPR certification required within four months of hire or current certification;
- Complete Medication Administration training courses within four months of hire;
- Current, valid Illinois driver’s license and proof of insurance required;
- Reliable means of transportation required;
- Fluent verbal and written English and Spanish communication preferred;
- May be required to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds;
- May be required to lift and transfer individuals when necessary.

Job description and Qualifications:
This is an entry level position working directly with our residents and no previous experience working in this field is required.
5 weeks of full time paid training is provided and required to become certified as a DSP at Misericordia Home (regardless of previous training).
DSPs help our residents with tasks throughout the day and provide direct care such as toileting, showering and feeding our residents. DSPs also assist our residents with various recreational activities, programs and goals.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.
We are hiring for full-time and part-time for the day (7a-3p), evening (3p-11p) and overnight (11p-7a) shifts. Our greatest need is for our evening and overnight shifts.
