Dispatch Assistant - Chicago, IL

  • Assist with getting crews dispatched
  • Secure truck and crew information and input into the computer.
  • Take calls from drivers with stats, payment information
  • Take calls from customers with concerns or questions on a move in progress and updates reservation
  • Go over final charges with driver and process payments
  • Monitor Aware GPS if necessary.
  • Insure Midway property is returned and checked in timely (such as keys, tool boxes, and other Midway property assigned on a daily basis)
  • Assists with move confirmation and finalization
  • Communicate with the warehouse, front office and other Midway staff
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual preferred
Other duties assigned by management.

Work Schedule and Site:
● Monday - Friday (as needed on Saturdays)
● 8 am to 4:30 pm (may vary)
● 4100 West Ferdinand Street, Chicago, IL 60624

Salary:
● $18- $22 per hour - depending on experience and qualifications

Benefits:
  • After 90 days of employment: (yearly)

Foster Parent Recruitment Specialist (part-time)t- Children's Home & Aid- Chicago, Il

Children’s Home & Aid believes that all children deserve a good home, a place that grounds them in a secure and loving present, and gives them the confidence to make their own future. As the Foster Parent Recruitment Specialist, you will have an active role in helping to meet the needs of older youth in the Foster Care System. Relying on your experience in the social services field and the expertise of the teams around you, you will develop and implement a plan to recruit foster homes, with an emphasis on identifying and developing individuals and families who will become experts in the short-term, respite care of adolescents and young adults. This part-time position requires approximately 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Recruit individuals and families as potential foster parents, with an emphasis on recruiting homes to serve adolescents on a short-term/respite basis.
  • Communicate agency philosophy and mission to foster families, the community, and partner agencies.
  • Develop and implement a recruitment plan, including marketing campaign and event coordination/participation, which may occur during evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain current knowledge of DCFS licensing/approval policy and procedure.
  • Track recruitment efforts, manage data, and report on outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree required. Degree in a communications/marketing-related field, or a social services-related field preferred.
  • Experience working in child welfare a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and Illustrator preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Excellent presentation skills required. Must be comfortable presenting to large groups and interacting with individuals.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Sr. Manager, Strategy- US Foods Rosemont IL

The Senior Manager Strategy is responsible for leading project work in support of strategic initiatives at US Foods. This includes identifying and quantifying business opportunities, analyzing data, communicating findings and recommendations to executive audiences, engaging with cross-functional team and supporting implementation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Project leadership: Own project deliverables, timeline, and success criteria; collaborate with internal analytics partners, business stakeholders, and management
•    Analytics and solution development:  Leverage advanced methods and tools to analyze business problems; synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights and develop clear, concise, and fact-based recommendations
•    Communications: Create executive-level written materials and present to senior audiences
•    Field enablement: Develop training, standard operating processes, and tracking capabilities to enable field execution against corporate initiatives
•    Department support: Collaborate with members of the Strategy team and support consistent and ad-hoc project needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business / Engineering or related quantitative field required
•    Master’s degree preferred

Related Experience/Requirements: 
•    6+ years demonstrated successful experience in analytical and project management roles
•    Prior management consulting or corporate strategy experience preferred
•    Prior distribution, retail, CPG, or related industry experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  
•    Demonstrated motivation to build consensus, lead workstreams, and drive progress on assigned projects
•    Clear, concise communicator able to interface with all levels of the organization
•    Strong written and oral presentation skills, including comfort presenting to senior management
•    Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
•    Strong analytical, problem solving and technical aptitude:

  • Experience in data analysis and statistical inference

  • SQL experience preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

•    Available for occasional travel as business requires (less than 5% of time)

Communication Associate- Full Time- Hana Center

  Major Responsibilities:

Communications

  • Create engaging online content to reach community members and other stakeholders, inspire measurable action, and increase public awareness about HANA Center.

  • Draft organizational statements, press releases, media advisories, and e-newsletters.

  • Maintain a visually appealing and user-friendly website that ensures community members can easily access accurate, up-to-date information.

  • Develop and maintain up-to-date materials to support programs and organizing and advocacy campaigns (e.g. social media toolkits, fact sheets, fliers, etc.).

  • Generate ideas and collaborate with HANA programs and staff to uplift community member stories, volunteer activities and achievements, and organizational highlights.

  • Maintain an organizational content calendar and ensure timely and effective coordination of social media, e-blasts,and other communications.

  • Track and analyze online engagement, and utilize engagement data to enhance and grow HANA Center’s online audience.

  • Maintain a current media (English, Korean, and Spanish) contact list, cultivate relationships with media contacts, and conduct outreach to secure earned media opportunities.

  • Explore and pursue, as appropriate, opportunities for paid media.

  • Attend, participate, and support with media and social media coverage in community meetings and other activities as needed.

  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.

 Development

  • Assist with researching funding opportunities and drafting grant proposals and reports for general operating and program support.

  • Assist with planning and execution of fundraising events, including HANA Center’s annual gala.

  • Provide donor acknowledgements and support donor outreach.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to immigrant rights and social, economic, and racial justice.

  • A belief in communities’ ability to support each other, organize, and achieve desired goals together.

  • Experience working on Korean American, Asian American, immigrant community issues, and/or social, economic, and racial justice issues preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year prior communications work experience.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Skilled in strategically utilizing social media tools including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok, and Linkedin.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, accuracy, and proven track record of meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to take initiative, think creatively and independently, and problem solve with a commitment to continued learning.

  • Prior engagement and familiarity with nonprofit organizations preferred.

  • Familiarity with design tools such as Canva, Squarespace, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

  • Familiarity with using CRM communication tools is a plus.

  • Familiarity with photo and/or video editing is a plus.

  • Proficiency in Korean and/or Spanish language is a plus.

 Reports To: Development and Communications Manager

Compensation: This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $37,000 - $39.000. HANA Center offers a full benefits package that includes paid time off, health, dental, vision, long-term disability, life, and 401k.
