Direct Support Professional- Misericordia Home

Misericordia Home offers a continuum of care to over 600 children and adults with mild to profound developmental disabilities, some of whom also have physical disabilities and medical issues. We offer a wide range of programs to help each person live as independently as possible through a spectrum of residential options on its 31-acre Chicago campus and in the community, and with a wide variety of programs.

The Misericordia community needs hard working, dependable, compassionate and motivated individuals to give of themselves to help enrich the lives of our residents.

Job description and Qualifications:

This is an entry level position working directly with our residents and no previous experience working in this field is required.
5 weeks of full time paid training is provided and required to become certified as a DSP at Misericordia Home (regardless of previous training).
DSPs help our residents with tasks throughout the day and provide direct care such as toileting, showering and feeding our residents. DSPs also assist our residents with various recreational activities, programs and goals.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.
We are hiring for full-time and part-time for the day (7a-3p), evening (3p-11p) and overnight (11p-7a) shifts. Our greatest need is for our evening and overnight shifts.
