Lead Teacher- Children's Learning Place

Children's Learning Place is an Early Learning Academy, working with children from 6 weeks old to 6 years old. We are currently looking for Lead Pre-K Teachers and Lead Infant Teachers!

Before submitting your resume, please make sure you meet all the credentials to be a DCFS approved Lead Teacher and are able to submit your transcripts or CDA.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Gearing the program to the needs of individual children, with concern for their interests, challenges, special talents, and individual styles and paces of learning.

Maintaining confidentiality of records, communications and behavior of children.

Perform daily activities, including setting up the classroom, conducting activities, and cleaning and sanitizing toys and equipment

Attending all staff meetings. Planning and implementing staff trainings/meetings each year.

Participating in recommended training programs, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional growth.

Implementing methods for effectively utilizing the services of child care assistants.

Assisting in the ongoing evaluation procedures needed to assess the developmental levels of the children

Assisting in public-relations events sponsored by the center. This is to include all Family events and or activities.

Prepare monthly newsletter for classroom

Must participate in 15 hours of in-service training or off site training per calendar year.

All candidates must be DCFS qualified: Early childhood teachers and school-age workers shall have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).

In addition to meeting the requirements of Section 407.100, t he early childhood teacher responsible for a group of children that includes infants, toddler or preschool-age children shall have achieved:

1) Sixty semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or

2) One year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or

3) Completion of credentialing programs approved by the Department in accordance with Appendix G of this Part.

Completion of certified first-aid and CPR course for infants and young children.

Demonstration of successful experience with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Ability and willingness to maintain absolute confidentiality of sensitive information.

Demonstration of professional communication with a variety of people including coworkers, parents and volunteers.
