The Release of Information Specialist will be responsible for the enterprise-wide release of medical information and the protection of a patient’s right to privacy related to their clinical information. This position is responsible for gathering a patient’s medical information across current and multiple legacy systems while ensuring that state and federal HIPAA statutes are complied with. Additionally, direct customer service occurs often on a daily basis. The Medical Record pick-up area is a central access point for all clinical departments to bring supplemental materials for patients pick up.
High school graduate; prior health information experience and/or medical legal experience preferred.
Above average technical skills to use a variety of applications
Basic accounting skills required to invoice and balance transactions
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Ability to deal professionally and tactfully with confidential information and difficult situations.
Location: Palos Health · MED RECORDS1
Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift, 7:30am - 4:00pm, 80 hours per pay period
