• Follow strict adherence to health and hygiene standards, preserving a healthy environment for
the children and KALEIDO*KIDS team
• Maintain a classroom environment that honors and respects diversity
• Protect confidentiality of children, families and fellow co-workers at all times
• Collaborate with the KALEIDO*KIDS team to ensure individual classroom programs are aligned
with the center’s overall goals and philosophy
• Plan and implement an individual classroom program built upon the goals set forth by the team,
while still having flexibility to make the classroom environment and curriculum tailored to the
needs and abilities of your students
• Partner with parents to support, guide and share in their child's growth and development,
including, but not limited to, daily updates, assessments & periodic parent-teacher conferences
• Maintain open, trusting and cooperative relationships with kids, parents and fellow team
members
• Accurately perform all administrative tasks including entries for the classroom log book, center
communication log book and required emergency and incident reporting in a timely manner
• Continue professional growth through training, workshops and reading professional literature
• If designated, administer medication as authorized by a physician and maintain appropriate
records
• Maintain all certifications, as required
• Ensure compliance with all DCFS Illinois rules and regulations
• Participates in school events, as well as team meetings, which may be before center opens, after
center closes or on the weekend.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Educational Requirements
• Lead Teacher: The more education related to Early Childhood Education (or related field) the
better! But the minimum required by DCFS is at least 9 credits in Early Childhood Education
courses from an accredited university/college
• Assistant Teacher: We prefer some coursework related to Early Childhood Education
Professional & Other Requirements
• Lead Teacher: At least two years’ experience in a licensed childcare facility, leading a classroom, as well
as creating educational lesson plans and mentoring teacher assistants/junior staff
• Assistant Teachers: Experience in the early childhood classroom setting is preferred, however, we can be
somewhat flexible on that IF the teacher shows s/he has the desire and passion to work in this field
• Experience mentoring teacher assistants/junior staff
• Three written character references from previous employers/supervisors
• Strong attendance record at previous employment and showing up ON TIME to work
• Certification in infant-child first aid and CPR
• A criminal background check and verification of medical suitability will be required, if hired
• Capable of lifting, pushing or pulling up to 45 pounds
• Must be at least 19 years of age
For both Lead & Assistant Teachers- we hire those with the most education & experience, the above
