Program Secretary (Monday-Thursday)- Children's Home & Aid- Chicago, IL

Every 3 minutes, someone calls Children’s Home & Aid for help for a child. Be a part of answering the call. The Program Secretary provides vital clerical support for staff in the Child Welfare programs. At this location, the Program Secretary’s primary duty is to ensure that client files are maintained per agency and DCFS procedures.  These programs provide services to children in foster care, biological parents, and foster parents.

Well-qualified candidates will enjoy working independently on multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. This position includes 30 hours per week (Monday - Thursday), and our full benefits package.

The Secretary’s responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate the filing process and related tasks for Child Welfare programs
  • Assist with program billing process, as needed
  • Issue purchase orders
  • Enter data for multiple departments, as needed
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies
  • Cover reception desk as needed

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree preferred
  • Three years' secretarial/clerical experience required
  • Ability to type at least 55wpm
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects/tasks
