As a Home Visitor for our home-based Early Head Start program, you will provide weekly home visits to children and their parents/caregivers in Kane County. You will conduct age-appropriate developmental activities for children and conduct quarterly assessments of their development. You will also develop partnerships with families, offering parent education activities and helping them to set and achieve family goals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide weekly home visits to children (0-3) and their parents/caregivers.
- Conduct age-appropriate developmental activities for children and parent education activities.
- Conduct quarterly assessments of children’s development.
- Develop partnerships with families, including helping them identify parent/family strengths, needs and interests, and meet their goals.
- Assist the Family Support Specialists in assessing the family’s need for services and obtaining all consents needed for family to achieve goals.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field required. Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of Parents as Teachers curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD preferred.
- Experience in a Head Start or Early Head Start program preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- Must be attentive to detail, self-motivated, well-organized and flexible and have initiative.
- Must have the ability to work as a team player and to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
