Early Childhood Education Coordinator- Children's Home & Aid- Chicago IL

As the Education Coordinator, you will provide Practice-Based Coaching to staff in the implementation of early childhood education best practices while promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation. The Education Coordinator reports to the Director of Education and Child Development Services and provides support to early childhood education centers in Chicago as well as Chicago's Northwest Suburbs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate education services for children age 0-5.
  • Provide strength-based and practice-based coaching and support and address the training needs of education staff.
  • Ensure implementation of educational plans, standards, and procedures consistent with Department of Children & Family Services, ISBE, Head Start Program Performance Standards, NAEYC accreditation standards, and Illinois Early Learning Standards.
  • Provide resources and training to center-based and home-based early childhood staff regarding environments and opportunities which promote children’s growth and development.
  • Facilitate one-on-one and group mentoring to help staff build skills, knowledge and competencies.
  • Conducts CLASS, ITERS, and ECERS observations, analyze results, and make recommendations for ongoing professional development of teachers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent field required.
  • Three years’ experience working in an early childhood education setting required.
  • At least one year of experience working in a Head Start/Early Head Start program required.
  • Coaching or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Gateways ECE Level 5 and Infant Toddler Level 5 Credentials preferred.
  • Certified in CLASS Reliable Observer for Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K a plus.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, management and communication skills.
  • Driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle required.
