Welcome Center Attendant- The Salvation Army

The Welcome Center Attendant works in the welcome and registration center to provide customer and guest services.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Clients
    1. Ensure the most enjoyable experience for all Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center members and guests.
    2. Must be able to provide customer service contact for customers, clients and members entering the facility and that they be able to provide direction and answer questions as needed.
    3. Maintain information material to ensure that customers have access to needed material.
    4. Maintain awareness of all Kroc Center facility and programs in order to share information to guests and customers.
    5. Greet members and guest enthusiastically and cheerfully.
    6. Be the primary phone-answering agent.
    7. Answer all incoming calls quickly and politely, ability to answer basic questions about facility wide events and programs.
  2. Maintenance and Safety
    1. Maintain all public and restricted areas in a neat and clean fashion. This is inclusive of, but not limited to:  cleaning equipment, removing trash and debris, vacuuming and sweeping, dusting and wiping down counter tops.
    2. Ensure Guest safety, immediately rectify and/or report any potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor.
    3. Assist and direct members and guests in moving about the facility to avoid crowded conditions and maximize service efficiently.
    4. Assist in filing client records and keeping all information current and maintained
    5. Will report any suspicion of Child Abuse to the appropriate supervisor and Child Protective Services.
    6. Generate legible and accurate accident and incident reports as required and forward to supervisor in time frames established.
    7. Notify security of any problems in registration area.
  3. Finance
    1. Verify memberships through the Point of Sales (Frontline) system.
    2. Secure the Point of Sales area at the close of shift.
    3. Collect revenue in a timely, efficient and reliable manner.
    4. Manage cash drawer
    5. Open the till and cash out at the end of shift in accordance to Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
    6. Properly input all sales and data into the Point of Sales system (Frontline)
    7. Maintain an accurate inventory of items sold by the Welcome Desk (i.e locks, etc.)

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of college or its equivalent, a BA or BS preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in customer service with administrative duties.
  • Experience with a computer based work environment preferred, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook or Lotus Notes.
