Teen Zone Attendant- The Salvation Army

The Teen Zone Attendant will ensure the safety and well-being of teens that are being supervised in the Teen Zone area.  Engage with students during daily activities.   

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Ensure a safe environment for teens within the Teen Zone.
    1. Adhere to the sign in and sign out policy for teens.
    2. Maintain readiness and cleanliness of the Teen Zone area by cleaning equipment, and activities areas as determined by Policy and Procedures.
    3. Make sure games and music are appropriate and clean by receiving manager approval before use.
      1. Follow collator policy for video games.
    4. Respond to emergencies or accidents, filling out incident reports as needed.
    5. Follow child-adult ratio.
    6. Follow Safe From Harm guidelines.
    7. Report any suspicion of child abuse to Youth and Teen Activities Manager.
  2. Ensure an enriching environment.Encourage teens to participate in a variety of activities.
    1. Create stimulating activities for teens.
    2. Encourage active play and interactive play with other teens.
    3. Interact with teens on their level.
  3. Ensure a welcoming & friendly environment.
    1. Greet teens enthusiastically by name.
    2. Be sensitive to teens who are apprehensive, shy or scared.
    3. Interact professionally with all contacts, as required, with the general public, parents/guardians, business community, Salvation Army Officers, and Kroc Center staff.
    4. Provide information and answer questions about all programs and activities available at the Kroc Center.
    5. When teens depart, say good bye by name.
  4. Work in a cooperative manner with the other staff of the RJKCCC programs, discussing any problems that may be occurring with the Youth and Teen Activities Manager.
  5. Other related duties as assigned.
  
SUPERVISION RECEIVED    
Under general supervision of The Youth and Teen Activities Manager with somefreedom to plan, schedule and carry out responsibilities within established policies and guidelines.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES 
This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of accomplishing assigned goals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE     
  • High School Diploma required, 2 years of college preferred.
  • Must have two years of experience working with Teens.
  • Have or be able to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Must be Safe from Harm certified within 30 days of HIRE.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
