Cafe Attendant- The Salvaltion Army

The café attendant is responsible for performing a variety of duties within the café and concessions area including completing customer transactions, cleaning the food or stock areas, assisting in the kitchen area, and maintaining inventory, and other related responsibilities.  As a result superior customer service is given, revenues are increased and delivery complies with guidelines.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  1. Provide excellent customer service.
    1. Greets customers and take food orders.
    2. Provide information about menus.
      1. Maintains a solid knowledge of product and services available in unit.
      2. Looks for opportunity to “up-sell” products.
    3. Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperatures of product.
    4. Operates cash register and receives payment from customer in cash or credit card.
      1. Accurately counts and provides change to customers as required.
      2. Follows all Kroc Center customer service and cash handling policies and procedures.
      3. Assists in locating, reconciling and verifying the accuracy of transactions and operate equipment with electronic data processing.
    5. Cleans and stocks work area and customer area.
      1. Transfer supplies and equipment as needed.
      2. Receives inventory, moves/lifts food and beverage product supplies between storage and work areas.
  2. Ensure a safe and clean Work Environment.
    1. Clean and sanitizes work station and equipment.
    2. Reporting any unsafe conditions or needed repairs.
    3. Maintain and use equipment and supplies according to department standards.
    4. Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
  3. Work cooperatively with the RJKCCC employees and guests, ensuring a high level of service.
  4. Assistance is provided on other duties as assigned.
