Front Desk Clerk- The Salvation Army

The Front Desk Clerk provides general support and security for the building and the residence department to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for clients.  

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Calls are answered in a professional and courteous manner. Calls are sent to the correct department, employee or client.
  2. Senior’s list is checked each day to ensure that all senior residents and residents taking medication are well. Daily check list for senior and clients that are ill is completed at the beginning of each shift.
  3. Entry into Harbor Light facility is controlled. Approved guests and visitors to the facility are greeted and seated in the lobby.  Employees and clients are informed when their guests and visitors arrive.  Clients and visitors entering the building are monitored.
  4. Room keys will be kept and the Resident Manager informed if a client enters the building under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  5. Response procedures are followed in case of emergency.
  6. Mail and messages are delivered to clients. The rolodex directory is updated when changes occur.
  7. Calls requesting information concerning admission criteria are sent to the Intake department. The desk clerk cannot answer questions regarding admission criteria.
  8. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in a residential treatment program setting preferred.
  • Experience working with a phone switchboard is preferred.
  • At least one year of sobriety required.
