Position Description:
Hana Early Childhood Center, located in the Irving Park neighborhood, is seeking a teacher for our two-year-old classroom. Applicants must be enthusiastic, nurturing, warm individuals who are passionate about working with children and families to help lay a foundation for future educational success. Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development of lesson plans that align with the guidelines and mission of the school and meets the social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs of individual children in a culturally sensitive classroom where children are cared for and respected at all time.
Develop positive relationships with parents/families, encouraging family involvement and partnering with them to support, guide and share in their child’s growth and development.
Communicate effectively and collaborate with parents and staff to provide a seamless educational experience for children that is reflective of diverse races, cultures and language and exhibits a respectful, courteous behavior to children, staff, and parents/guardians.
Be a team player in the classroom, working collaboratively with other teachers and staff in the room in a supportive manner.
Familiarity with Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, as well as screening/assessment tools such as ASQ:SE2 and ASQ:3 a plus.
Key Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood, OR Level 5 in Gateways Infant/Toddler credential.
Experience working with ELL and SPED children preferred.
Must meet background clearance requirements including finger printing.
Spanish or Korean language a plus.
Position Information: Full-time position, Monday-Friday, hours vary
