The Energy Scholars Program- Level Ten Energy

 The Energy Scholars Program:

Through our eight week summer internship program, students will gain exposure to multiple career paths within clean energy:

  • LevelTen Energy will provide an in-depth look into how we use technology to operate a liquid, centralized renewable energy marketplace that enables buyers and sellers to connect and transact more easily.

  • Intersect Power will provide exposure to each department at our company. These teams all work together from start-to-finish on solar projects, granting student insight into the process of developing large scale solar + storage power plants and expertise across real estate, permitting, interconnection, engineering, power marketing, procurement, finance, construction, and operations.

  • EnergyGPS will train students to analyze energy markets, develop models to value the prospects of renewable energy projects, and write insightful reports to communicate important policy developments.

Scholars will work remotely full-time, 40 hours per week. Scholars will rotate through all three companies over the course of the summer, spending a few weeks with each team. Although we offer some flexibility, scholars will be expected to commit to eight consecutive weeks between late June and early August.

Hourly pay: $25/hour

Who You Are:

Eligible applicants will meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate college program

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Solid quantitative skills

  • A commitment to the program, willingness to learn, and a passion for renewable energy

Note from our leaders:

We recognize the systemic barriers that have created inequitable access to mentorship, training, and networking opportunities in this field. Those same systems are creating and perpetuating disproportionate impacts of climate change on Black and Indigenous communities. We can already see the tragic ways that pollution, rising sea levels, more frequent and deadly climate disasters are leaving cities and tribal lands without power, clean water, or access to other resources.

For our transition to clean energy to be not only successful, but also equitable, we believe that our industry needs to change. The future of the renewable energy industry depends on ensuring that the best minds are proactively welcomed, valued, and included. If you are a member of a community disproportionately impacted by climate change, or identify with a group that is historically underrepresented and disadvantaged, we encourage you to apply.
