La Casa Norte’s (LCN) Housing Advocacy Program provides case management, housing location, and income support services to families who have an open child welfare case and are homeless or at-risk. Our services focus on helping families obtain stable housing, avoid family separation and assist with family reunification.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday. Eligible applicants must be available to work occasional evenings and Saturdays. In order to be considered, an applicant must have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle in order to conduct home visits within the entire City of Chicago and adjoining suburbs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- SPANISH/ENGLISH BILINGUAL PREFERRED
- Strong computers skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet browser, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledgeable of the social and cultural patterns of Latinos & African Americans
- Ability to work independently and creatively
- Desire, creativity, and flexibility to work in a new and fast growing agency
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
- Ability to handle various projects concurrently
