Administrative Assistant- Maryville Academy
Follows all Maryville’s policies and procedures as well as all standard operating procedures for designated work sites/programs.
Exhibits professional courtesy and tact when interacting with callers and visitors and when answering the telephones.
Utilizes computers and various applications such as database management, Excel, and word processing programs. If applicable.
Maintains files and records on site.
Takes meeting minutes as necessary.
Maintains adequate level of supplies and material needed for effective office operations.
Reviews invoices, settles discrepancies with suppliers and codes invoices to the proper department general ledger account. Establishes new supplier accounts when appropriate.
Monitors and updates biweekly payroll.
Performs other work related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED; Bachelor degree preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Three years of related clerical experience preferred.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Strong verbal, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.

The Administrative Assistant supports the program by coordinating and executing office and administrative functions in order to assist with maintenance of the day to day facility changes.
Responsibilities Include:

Bilingual Program Nurse- Maryville Academy
- Is knowledgeable of and follows Maryville Academy Standard Medical Operating Procedures;
- Establishes positive working relationships with the Treatment Team, program staff, and other Maryville nurses;
- Develops and maintains lines of communication with outside contractors and consumers including ORR, physicians, dentists, therapists, and others as needed;
- Monitors the health care delivery system of assigned sites, to include:
- Medical clearance system;
- Medication administration, storage, documentation and consents;
- Delivery of prescribed patient care;
- Patient medical record system;
- Physicians' orders, prescription and lab work implementation in an accurate and timely manner;
- Implements any home adaptations, as needed;
- Oversee the medical equipment providers, as needed;
- Ensures that medical information is up to date;
- Coordinates with the program management staff in the discharge planning system;
- Develops and maintains a system to provide medical consultation to case managers, Maryville staff and contracted staff;
- Develops and provides medical workshops, groups, and CPR training for staff and clients;
- Supervises the infection control program and quality improvement and safety program as it pertains to medical issues;
- Communicates with the therapists, dietician(s), and psychiatrist(s) and all members of the multi-disciplinary team;
- Participates in treatment team meetings, management team meetings and quarterly review staffing as needed;
- Schedules client medical appointments as necessary;
- Attends client medical appointments as indicated for the health and safety concerns of each clinet;
- On-call 24 hours as needed, for crisis situation;
- Participates in continued performance quality improvement;
- Performs other work related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of Licensed Practical Nurse. Licensed Registered Nurse, preferred;
- Experience in pediatric nursing;
- Physical assessment course work preferred.

Bilingual Recreation Coordinator- Maryville Academy
The Recreation Coordinator is a full-time position and reports to the Assistant Program Director. The Recreation Coordinator, in consultation with the Assistant Program Director and educational staff of the program, will develop and implement a recreational curriculum adapted for Spanish-speaking boys and girls in a residential shelter. The Recreation Coordinator will teach staff and children games, sports and recreational techniques, and lead physical exercise. The Recreation Coordinator is also responsible to teach safe warm-up activities, principles and practices of sportsmanship, and safety measures for indoor and outdoor sports. The Recreation Coordinator is a grant position related solely to the Unaccompanied Children’s Shelter as funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement and any successor funding.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and implements recreational teaching curriculum with lesson plans, adapted to the conditions of residents of Maryville Unaccompanied Children Shelters. This curriculum will be implemented in the school as well as in after-school residential care;
- Leads recreational activities with children on both campuses on a rotating basis and according to schedules and lesson plans;
- Leads training of residential and educational staff on sportsmanship, safety rules, sports and games, motivational techniques and exercise;
- Provides training to staff and children on prevention of injuries;
- Documents all recreational activities led by recreation specialist or the staff he/she has trained;
- Serves as a referee or arbiter for sports activities, including, but not limited to, soccer;
- Plans and executes at least four sports-related field trips per year; may be asked to attend or lead additional field trips;
- Organizes cross-campus games and events, as appropriate to the population;
- Attends weekly Treatment Team meetings on both campuses;
- Collaborates with Maryville or external medical staff in the case of an emergency or injury;
- Designs special activities for children with physical limitations;
- Implements the Maryville’s policy on Zero Tolerance to Sexual Abuse;
- Implements all emergency routines and procedures as necessary;
- Oversees sports equipment and proper use and storage;
- Reports and communicates all concerns to supervisor;
- Assures that all activities are conducted with appropriate precautions taken for the safety of the participants;
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in physical education or related field from an accredited university program;
- At least three years of experience in leading recreational services to children and adolescent population;
- Coaching license from an Illinois sports association;
- Successful completion of all staff education requirements including: Pre-Service training, NCI, CPR, and ARC Model;
- Must possess a valid driver’s license;
- Minimum 21 years of age.
Skills /Knowledge:
- Bilingual English/Spanish language competency required;
- Knowledge of best practices in recreational activities including development, implementation, and evaluation of recreational curriculum;
- Knowledge of the rules and fundamentals of soccer and other sports activities;

Bilingual Care Provider- Maryville Academy
The Unaccompanied Children’s Shelter is home to adolescent boys and girls through the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). This program provides a safe setting for children during their first days in America until a permanent setting can be established for them.
About the Care Provider Position
The Care Provider provides services for a diverse population of Unaccompanied Children (UC) of all ages and genders. Responsible for the day-to-day care and guidance of the youth of the Maryville Unaccompanied Children program. Assists with the management of the living environment of the program and promotes the learning of desirable behavior patterns by youth in a safe and nurturing environment. Program Care Provider is a grant position related solely to the Unaccompanied Children’s Shelter as funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement and any successor funding.
Essential Functions:
- Follows all Maryville’s policies and procedures as well as all standard operating procedures for the Unaccompanied Children Program;
- Provides for the basic needs of the Unaccompanied Children including, but not limited to: nutrition, hygiene, clothing, daily routines, recreational activities, laundry and education;
- Conducts oneself as a role model for the children/youth;
- Provides consistent “line of sight” supervision of youth.
- Provide safe transportation of child/youth to various scheduled activities.
- Completes all required logs, forms and reports;
- Assists youth with processing of events and emotions in a confidential manner in all behavioral areas;
- Attends a minimum of 20 hours advanced training/workshops on an annual basis;
- Performs other duties / functions as requested by supervisory personnel.
Minimum Requirements

Adult Education Career Pathways Navigator- Chicago Citywide Literacy Coalition
In collaboration with the 12 federally funded adult education providers that comprise the Illinois Community College Board’s Area Planning Council’s 508 Near West American Job Center sub-area (the Workgroup), CCLC is recruiting for the Adult Education Pathways Navigator position. In the spirit of collaboration, these providers have come together to staff a position that will represent their services to adults in need of skills training. The Navigator will be responsible for understanding and promoting the programs and services of the Workgroup members at the American Job Center, tracking and reporting populations served and students referred to the 12 organizations, and tracking and reporting outcomes on those referrals.
The Pathways Navigator will be responsible for ensuring that the Workgroup member programs are strongly marketed in the American Job Center so that more adults with low skills will be aware of and utilize adult education services. This full-time staff position will be housed at the Near West American Job Center and will refer interested candidates to training providers that best match their needs in terms of program offered, location and schedule.
This national award-winning model is an innovative approach to service delivery. The Pathways Navigator will work collaboratively with the Near West American Job Center adult education core partners to develop pathways for adults seeking educational attainment. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of the adult education, workforce development, and higher education systems, as well as a general understanding of the social and supportive services that are available in the area.
Outreach, intake and orientation
· Creation and execution of a marketing plan with Workgroup providers.
· Conduct regular outreach and orientation activities.
Administrate TABE and CASAS, interpret test results for appropriate referrals to Workgroup organizations.
Skills and supportive services needs assessment
· Assist individuals in assessing their current skills and support service needs.
•Assist individuals in accessing training that leads to attainment of industry-recognized credentials, diplomas, and degrees through stackable credentials
Program Coordination and referral
· Form strong relationships with the Workgroup providers to ensure accurate and timely referrals. Become familiar with the student profiles appropriate to each program for accurate referrals.
· Develop and implement a comprehensive process, along with customized supports, that will enhance the capacity of individuals to access the appropriate training and education among the Workgroup members.
· In collaboration with core partners, determine metrics and manage data for evaluation of the referral system.
· Work collaboratively with the Program Director and Workgroup members to identify additional resources to support the development of local career pathways.
·Develop a timely reporting system to communicate outcomes to the 12 providers.
· Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree and experience in adult education, career counseling, human services, or related field required. Master’s Degree in Social Work or Education preferred.
•Bilingual (English/Spanish). Familiarity with adult literacy services (ABE, ESOL, GED, NEDP, etc.), providers in the region.
•Familiarity with the TABE, BEST and other assessments related to literacy, career exploration, job training, and higher education.
